Single center bracket torsion
Houses from this era were built with steel sectional doors on torsion springs mounted on a single center bracket, not the dual-spring setups that came standard by the late 1960s. The tracks are narrower, the drums are smaller, and a lot of these original setups have been retrofitted with openers that were never sized for the door they're lifting.
